Understanding My Dashboard

Using My Dashboard

Your Dashboard is your central hub in JustOrg Design. Every time you log in, you'll land here—and it's designed to help you see what you need to do across all your groups in one place.

Think of it as your personal command center. Instead of hunting through different groups to find your commitments or check on meeting times, everything you need is right here.

What You'll See on Your Dashboard

Your Dashboard has three main sections, each giving you a different view of your work:

My Open Commitments

This section shows all the Commitments you've made across all your groups—the tasks you promised to handle between meetings.

Note: This section only appears if you have open commitments. If you don't have any commitments across your groups, you won't see this section at all.

For each commitment, you'll see:

  • Commitment Description - what you committed to do
  • Table - which group this commitment belongs to
  • Due - when you need to have it done by
  • Ready - a checkbox you can use to signal you're finished

About the "Ready" checkbox: When you check this box, you're telling your group "I'm done and ready to discuss this at our next meeting." The commitment isn't formally closed until you talk about it together in a meeting, but marking it Ready helps you manage your work between meetings and lets others know you've completed your part.

Click on any commitment to go directly to it in that group's most recent meeting agenda.

My Open Group Lead Tasks

If you're a Group Lead (Sponsor or Convener) for any groups, you'll see this section. It shows the tasks you need to complete in your stewardship role—the work you do to guide and support your group's success.

About Group Lead Tasks: These are tasks that Group Leads create and manage amongst themselves in the Planner to keep track of the work they need to do to move their group forward. Think of it as a task management system just for Group Leads—so you don't need an external system to track your stewardship work. All Group Leads for a group can see the GL Task list in that group's Planner (accessed via Planner Tools → Group Lead Tasks). This keeps everything you need to do for a given group with that group, so nothing drops off.

Note: This section only appears if you're a Group Lead AND you have open tasks. If you're not a Group Lead, or if you're a Group Lead but don't have any tasks, you won't see this section.

For each task, you'll see:

  • Task - what needs to be done
  • Table - which group this task is for
  • Due - the deadline

Click on any task to open that group's GL Task list in the Planner, where you can view details, update it, mark it as done, or create new tasks.

Your Group Cards

Below the commitment and task sections, you'll see cards for each group you're a member of. These cards are organized alphabetically by group name.

Each card shows:

  • Group name and icon at the top
  • Top 3 Table Actions - the group's highest priority actions (if any exist)
  • Next Meeting - when the group meets next

Click on the top part of any card (the header with the group name) to go directly to that group's Planner page. Click on the Next Meeting date to go directly to the agenda for that meeting.

Filtering Your View

In the top right corner, you'll see "Showing Table Status: Active" with a dropdown menu. This lets you toggle between:

  • Active - groups currently doing work (this is the default view)
  • Closed - groups that have been archived or completed their work

Most of the time, you'll want to keep this set to Active. But if you need to reference a closed group, you can switch the view.

How to Use Your Dashboard

Your Dashboard works differently depending on your role and how many groups you're involved in:

If You're on Just a Few Groups

Check your Dashboard at least once a week, or before any group meetings. Use it to:

  • See what commitments you need to work on
  • Mark commitments as Ready when you've completed them
  • Check when your next meetings are happening
  • Get a quick sense of what each group is focused on

If You're on Many Groups

You might want to check your Dashboard more frequently—maybe daily or every few days. It helps you:

  • Keep track of commitments across multiple groups without losing anything
  • Prioritize your work by due dates
  • Stay oriented to what's happening across your groups

If You're a Group Lead

Your Dashboard becomes even more important. You'll likely check it frequently to:

  • Monitor your Group Lead tasks and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Keep commitments on track across all the groups where you participate
  • Get quick visibility to what's happening in groups you're leading
  • Prepare for check-ins with other Group Leads or leadership

Practical Tips

Managing Your Commitments:

  • Mark things as Ready as soon as you complete them—don't wait until the meeting
  • If you see a commitment is overdue, reach out to your group proactively
  • Click directly on commitments to see the full context from the meeting where they were created

Using Group Cards:

  • Scan the Top 3 Actions to see what each group is prioritizing
  • Check Next Meeting times to plan your week
  • Click the Next Meeting date to jump directly to the agenda
  • Click the card header when you need to dive deeper into a group's work

For Group Leads:

  • Review your tasks regularly—they represent your stewardship responsibilities
  • Click on any task to jump to the GL Task list in the Planner where you can manage them
  • Create new GL Tasks in the Planner (Planner Tools → Group Lead Tasks) to track stewardship work
  • Keep tasks updated so you and your co-leads stay aligned

What If I Don't See Something?

A group card shows "no List items"? This means that group doesn't currently have any active Actions in their Planner. That's normal, especially for groups that are just getting started or between work cycles.

No Next Meeting listed? The group hasn't scheduled their next meeting yet. This might be normal if the group meets on an ad-hoc basis, or it might mean someone needs to schedule the next gathering.

The Bottom Line

Your Dashboard gives you clarity about your work across all your groups. Instead of feeling scattered or worried you're forgetting something, you can see everything in one place.

The best way to use it? Make it part of your regular routine. Check it when you log in, mark things as Ready when you finish them, and let it help you stay on top of your commitments without stress.

Remember: Your Dashboard is designed to reduce overwhelm, not add to it. It's not about tracking everything perfectly—it's about having visibility to your work so you can do it well and stay connected to your groups.
